When shipping live plants, it is vital to ensure their well-being as extended transit times can result in etiolation (characterized by weak stems and leaves and yellowing/browning leaves). While etiolation is not a death sentence, it may affect the plant's aesthetic, and Petrichor of Pachamama strives to provide the best quality products. As such, we ship via USPS Priority Mail. We have partnered with Shippo to ensure that we find you the best shipping rates. Please note that shipping cost is automatically calculated based on the weight of your purchase. Given the nature of the products, we sell variations in weight from what is set as "default" for the products you add to your cart—as such, getting the weight of each order exactly correct is tricky. Petrichor of Pachamama guarantees that if you were overcharged on shipping, we will refund you the difference.

Petrichor of Pachamama is not responsible for lost packages once they leave our facility. You should direct delivery issues to the USPS.

  1. Failure to retrieve package in a timely manner

Are there any concerns with ordering plants in the winter months?

Air plants come from regions that are not accustomed to freezing temperatures and thus risk damage if they are exposed to an extended period of temperatures below 38 degrees Fahrenheit. If you are ordering plants and live in a region of the United States that will experience low temperatures it is highly recommended that you add a UniHeat 72-hour heat pack (Here) to your order at an additional cost. Please note that adding a heat pack to your order when your average daytime temperature is above 38 degrees Fahrenheit may result in the arrival of heat stressed plants. Lastly, these heat packs are not guaranteed to keep your plants safe during extreme cold weather events. Please check your weather prior to ordering to determine whether or not you will need to include a heat pack. If you will be experiencing an extreme cold weather event please consider ordering when weather conditions are more favorable. It is the responsibility of the customer to retrieve the packages as soon as they are delivered to reduce the time the shipment is exposed to the elements. Petrichor of Pachamama is not responsible for and thus cannot provide refunds or exchanges for any damages incurred through the following:

  1. The failure to add a heat pack to your order when the weather warrants the use of one (average daytime temperature below 38 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. The erroneous addition of a heat pack when weather does not require the use of one (average daytime temperature above 38 degrees Fahrenheit)
  3. Packages delivered with or without a heat pack during cold weather events.
