Cholla Wood Stump
Cholla refers to the 35 species of cacti within the genus Cylindropuntia native to North and South America. These cacti are supported by an internal lignified vascular cambium. When a Cylindropuntia dies this vascular cambium is left behind and is often referred to as "Cholla skeleton" or "Cholla wood." These hollow tubes have many different uses--in fact you have probably seen Cholla wood in the pet store as it is extremely popular for hermit crabs. Another extremely popular use of cholla wood is for air plant display!!
These stumps stand about 4" tall.
