Tillandsia pseudobaileyi is a unique stiff leaf plant with a pinstripe pattern. In habitat T. pseudobaileyi can be found growing on trees in the seasonally dry forests of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. T. pseudobaileyi exhibits an exaggerated bulbous base marked with tendril-like leaves that are a deeply green and have a twisted contorted appearance reminiscent of T. bulbosa, T. caput-medusae, and T. butzii. When T. pseudobaileyi begins to blush the uppermost leaves will begin to produce scarlet tones and a pink flower stalk will arise from the center of the plant showcasing bright violet tubular flowers.

T. pseudobaileyi does well in high light conditions, however, they thrive best in bright indirect light. This plant is prone to rot as the tightly packed leaves that form the bulbous base are excellent at trapping water. Luckily, T. pseudobaileyi does not require a dunk or a bath. Misting this species about 3 times a week or more often if the air in your home is very dry is sufficient for these plants to thrive.

Fertilizing is not necessary; however, it encourages faster growth, off-setting, blushing, and blooming! To fertilize, we recommend misting your specimen with a foliar fertilizer such as our Foliar Feed at least once a month.

Your specimen will be 6+ inches in height.
