Tillandsia Usneoides (Thick Form) is a rare variety of Spanish Moss that is thicker, whiter, and fuzzier than the traditional type. Despite the name, Spanish Moss is not from Spain (it’s also not even a moss, it’s pineapple's cousin). T. usneoides has a range that spans South, Central, and North America. However, Spanish Moss is most popularly known from depictions of the Deep South—think Lousiana Bayou. In fact, Spanish Moss can be found cascading off of old oak and cyprus trees in the lowlands, swamps, and marshes from Southern Virginia to Florida and west on over to Texas. Spanish Moss is a collection of small plants that cling to trees and to each other, forming the characteristic dangling drapes that can hang at lengths of 20-25 feet.

Luckily, you don’t have to live in a swamp to give your collection some southern charm. Like most Tillandsia, Spanish Moss requires bright-indirect light. Since this species is native to environments with high humidity, it is recommended to dunk your Spanish Moss in purified water frequently.

Fertilizing is not necessary; however, it encourages faster growth, off-setting, blushing, and blooming! To fertilize, we recommend misting your specimen with a foliar fertilizer such as our Foliar Feed at least once a month.

Your specimen will be a bundle that is about 18 inches in length.

Love the air plants.

Simply amazing! My girlfriend loved the plants as I do. I do have some questions about the care of one of them though. If you could get back to be, that would be great!
Thanks again for the awesome plants.
