Tillandsia vicente bacaya is a naturally occurring hybrid between T. caput-medusae and T. capitata ‘Peach’. Native to Mexico and Central America T. vicente bacaya can be found growing among other species of air plants high up in the trees of tropical and subtropical regions. When in bloom T. vicente bacaya display some beautiful pink-purple coloration and the flowers are violet.

T. vicente bacaya does well in bright indirect light. This plant is prone to rot as the tightly packed leaves that form the bulbous base are excellent at trapping water. Luckily, T. vicente bacaya does not require a dunk or a bath. Misting this species about 3 times a week or more often if the air in your home is very dry is sufficient for these plants to thrive.

Fertilizing is not necessary; however, it encourages faster growth, off-setting, blushing, and blooming! To fertilize, we recommend misting your specimen with a foliar fertilizer such as our Foliar Feed at least once a month.

Your specimen will be 7-9 inches tall.
